Establishing an association
What do you need to establish an association?
At least three people are required to establish an association. To participate in the competition, at least 15 members are needed to form a team. The board of an association consists of at least the chairman, the secretary, and the treasurer.
Next, draft the Articles of Association and the Internal Regulations for the association. The Articles of Association must be registered with a notary. There are no fixed guidelines for drafting the Internal Regulations. It goes without saying that the content must not conflict with the Articles of Association. The Internal Regulations are submitted to the association's general meeting for approval.
Register the association with the Chamber of Commerce. By registering with the Chamber of Commerce, the association becomes a legal entity, and the board is no longer jointly and severally liable.
To participate in the competition, an association must have at least a field with a pitch and screens, and changing rooms. Send an email with the club registration and for approval to the KNCB headquarters: Tom Heggelman tom.heggelman@kncb.nl
Member Registration
A club must register all its members (competitive members, recreational members, and non-playing members) with the KNCB via e-cricket. Members pay membership fees annually. Among other things, match schedules are created using this contribution. For the full KNCB service package, see Club Advice and Contact under “What the KNCB does for its members”.
A well-organized, future-proof club has a development plan; a clear and realistic structure regarding the roles of players, coaches, and volunteers; a verifiable and responsible financial policy; a multi-year written agreement with the municipality and sports park regarding the use and maintenance of the facilities; and regular communication with all members, interested parties, and external partners. Examples of articles of association and information regarding the establishment of an association can be found on the NOC*NSF website: Handbook of laws and regulations for sports associations.
