ICC Umpire Foundation Course
For whom.
For the person who is a club umpire in the lower league. Or who is a player in a league were the KNCB doesn’t appoint umpires and also for coaches and parents who supervise youth cricket. Attending the online part of the level 1 course is recommended.

ICC Umpire Course Level 1
For whom
For those who are appointed as bonds umpire by the KNCB. The course consists of an online and a face-to-face part. Participation in the online part requires completion of the ICC Umpire Foundation Course. Participation in the face-to-face portion requires completion of the online part. After passing the course, one must stand 5 matches with an experienced colleague to be considered a bonds umpire.
We expect bondsumpires to stand a minimum of 10 matches in the year they complete their course. In the following years, they are required to stand at least 6 matches per season. We also expect participation in at least 50% of the training sessions offered each year.

Before the start of the 2026 season, the KNCB will organize several face-to-face training sessions to complete your ICC Umpires Level 1 accreditation.

Our trainers are ready to go. Final locations will depend on the participants so we can keep travel distances as low as possible. We need a minimum of 16 participants for the course to run. The course fee is €150.00.

Please make sure you finish this by 26 December 2025. The ICC will be transferring all courses and administration to a new system, which will take some time.
Once you complete the online Level 1 modules, you will receive a QR code. Please send it to adriaan.van.den.dries@kncb.nl. You will then receive the registration form for the face-to-face training sessions.

ICC Umpire Course Level 2
For whom.
For bondsumpires who aspire to officiate in the Topklasse and above. This course is by invitation only and is delivered at ICC-designated venues.
Dates
Course is under development at the ICC and will be rolled out in 2026.
Continuous Development for bonds umpires
For whom
For all bondsumpires, six face-to-face sessions will be organised during the season to maintain knowledge and performance levels. Umpires are expected to attend at least three of these sessions.
During the winter months, this will be complemented by five online sessions.
